What Info We Collect

Information you give us

• Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the services you are interested in, and your message.
• GEEKBUILDER (our project and quote builder): your business or organization name and details, website and logo design preferences (such as page count, features, colors, style and brand words), your answers to the GEEKBUILDER questions, your contact information (name, email, phone, preferred contact method), any notes you add, the package you choose, and the mockup preview generated from your answers.
• Emails and messages you send us directly.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our Site, WordPress and our hosting provider automatically collect basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for security, troubleshooting, preventing spam and abuse (for example, rate limiting form submissions), and keeping the Site running. WordPress and its plugins may set cookies that are necessary for the Site to work, such as cookies for logged-in administrators or form security. We do not use advertising cookies.

How We Use Your Info

• To respond to your questions and messages.
• To prepare estimates, quotes and mockup previews for your project.
• To provide, manage and support the services you request, including hosting and tech support.
• To communicate with you about your project.
• To keep the Site secure and prevent spam, fraud and abuse.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

AI Processing in GEEKBUILDER

To generate the sample headline and text shown in a GEEKBUILDER mockup preview, some of your GEEKBUILDER answers (such as your business name, type of organization, goals, style and selected features) may be sent to OpenAI, L.L.C. through its API. We do not send your email address or phone number to OpenAI for this purpose. OpenAI processes this information to return the mockup text and handles it under its own privacy policy and API data usage policies. All quote amounts are calculated by our own website, not by AI.

Google User Data (Gmail API)

Our Site uses an application called “WebGeek Mail” that connects to Google’s Gmail API with the gmail.send permission (through the FluentSMTP plugin). It is used solely to send the Site’s own notification emails (such as contact form messages and GEEKBUILDER lead notifications) from the Site owner’s own Gmail account to the Site owner.

• We do not read, scan, or access the contents of any Gmail inbox.
• We do not store Gmail data, other than the authorization token needed to send email, which is kept on our server.
• We do not share, sell, or transfer Gmail data to anyone.
• We do not use Gmail data for advertising, marketing, or to train AI models.
• Visitors to the Site are never asked to sign in with Google, and no visitor’s Google account data is accessed.

WebGeek Mail’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site and our business, and only as needed for them to provide their services:

• GoDaddy: website hosting, where the Site and its data are stored.
• Google: email delivery through the Gmail API, as described above.
• OpenAI: generating mockup text for GEEKBUILDER, as described above.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of WebGeek, our clients or others.

How Long We Keep It

We keep contact form messages, GEEKBUILDER submissions and related project information for as long as needed to respond to you, provide our services, and meet our business, legal and tax obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your Choices” below).

How We Protect It

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, limited administrator access, security checks on our forms, and reputable hosting and service providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices & Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing webgeekmail@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them as required.

Kids

Our Site and services are intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
